Nestled in the beautiful Bayside village of Black Rock, Melbourne, Muscle Freedom is a reputable myotherapy and remedial massage clinic. Our therapists bring a wealth of expertise to the table and have the experience and professional training to treat a broad range of muscular conditions. Our motto is to treat the cause of our clients’ issues, rather than just the symptoms.

Since opening in 2014, we have built a solid reputation as specialists at treating specific sports-related injuries. We have the privilege of calling some of Bayside’s biggest sporting names our clients.

Sam Noble – Remedial Massage Therapist

Sam is the founder and owner of Muscle Freedom. He has more than 20 years’ experience in sports and remedial massage.

Sam worked in clinics in Queensland, Canada and London before opening Muscle Freedom in Black Rock, Bayside, Melbourne in 2014.

His passion is seeing clients feel and perform their absolute best thanks to regular remedial massage therapy.

Specialities: Deep-tissue massage, Myofascial cupping, dry needling, trigger-point therapy.

Damien Finn Remedial Massage Therapist

Damien Finn – Remedial Massage Therapist

Damien has diplomas in Remedial Massage and Shiatsu, giving him a solid understanding of both western and eastern health models.

To help his clients stay active, he provides comprehensive treatments using a range of effective techniques from both systems – assisting them to excel in their chosen sport, prevent or rehabilitate from injury, to work more productively or simply to enjoy more freedom of movement.

Damien has worked with athletes, celebrities and everyday people to help them improve their range of motion and free themselves from muscular discomfort.

Kerrie Baumgartner Remedial Massage Therapist

Kerrie Baumgartner – Remedial Massage Therapist

Kerrie has a broad background in elite sport combined with various physical education, management and massage courses.

After studying a Bachelor of Applied Science at Victoria University, she went on to complete a Graduate Certificate in Athlete Career Education and Management, plus a Business Certificate.

Over the years Kerrie has worked in various sports and health development roles. She has also achieved elite standards in three sports (athletics-800m, triathlons and cycling).

Kerrie has a Diploma of Remedial Massage. She combines deep tissue, myofascial release techniques and trigger-point therapy with cupping and dry needling to enhance healing.

Tom Black Myotherapist & Remedial Massage Therapist

Tom Black – Myotherapist & Remedial Massage Therapist

Tom developed a passion for massage therapy after several injuries and crashes sidelined him during his cycling career.

In 2017 he was head trainer for Frankston YCW Football club, who won their fourth consecutive premiership. He has also worked with VFL team – Box Hill Hawks and JLT Condor pro cycling team in the UK and here in Australia.

In 2020, he completed a Bachelor of Health Science in Clinical Myotherapy. He can tailor treatments to the needs of each client with dry needling, taping, cupping, mobilisation & exercise prescription.

Tim Webber Sports Therapist

Tim Webber – Sports Therapist

Tim found my way into sports therapy and massage through his work as a gymnastics coach. In an effort to improve his coaching, he started reading up on strength training, injury prevention and anatomy. This sparked an interest in learning more about how the body works and prompted Tim to study sports therapy.

Tim has a strong interest in injury prevention and believes that regular massage can help you get the most out of your time training or competing. Tim uses a range of soft-tissue techniques, including dry needling and cupping, along with educating clients to help them achieve their goals.

Michael Martinovic – Remedial Massage Therapist

Upon completing a Bachelor of Sports and Exercise at the University of Technology Sydney and a Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy at the Australian Institute of Fitness, Michael began his own practice in a gym in Sydney while also working with a physiotherapist and chiropractors.

He moved from Sydney to Melbourne for a new challenge and to expand his learning as a student of physiotherapy, while playing football at the NPL level.

Michael understands how important nutrition and a healthy mind-body connection is to maintain a healthy lifestyle and to prevent the onset of injuries. It’s for that reason he is also finalising his Personal Training course to further educate and assist his clients.

Through his various modalities, Michael aims to ultimately improve his clients’ day-to-day lifestyle and help them to reach their optimal sporting performance.

Keona Weller – Remedial Massage Therapist

With over eight years’ experience as a Remedial Massage Therapist, Keona’s mission is to help clients heal, leaving their session feeling better and with a continuing focus on their overall health.

With specialised training in sports massage, she has worked with organisations such as Melbourne Storm, St Kilda Football Club and Cricket Australia. Her additional qualifications such as a Masters of Dry Needling and Pregnancy Massage enhance her ability to meet clients’ needs.

Outside treating and healing, I can be found training or re-energising in nature.

Jonathan Smyth-Small – Myotherapist

Jonathan developed his love for movement and recovery after studying a BSc in Sports Studies (Exercise and Health). This degree enabled him to understand sport, exercise and nutrition and its role in preventing/treating injury and disease throughout life.

He was heavily involved in sport from a young age, competing in judo at a national level and playing soccer competitively. Jonathan’s love of competitive sport led to numerous injuries growing up, which sparked his curiosity for rehabilitation and helping people after being treated himself.

During his Myotherapy treatments, he helps clients with a wide range of  conditions, providing tailored treatment plans depending on the patient’s goals and capabilities.

In his down time, you can find him outdoors enjoying nature with his dog Bronson, or playing music or sports with friends.

Paige Bux – Remedial therapist 

Paige has a Diploma in Remedial Massage through the Australian College of Fitness and Body Work (ACFB). She worked in a massage clinic on the Mornington Peninsula before joining the team at Muscle Freedom.

Paige likes to create a relaxed and easy-going atmosphere for clients. She provides a thorough assessment before starting the treatment.

She uses a range of techniques, include cupping, myofascial release, trigger-point therapy, dry needling, plus stretching and strengthening exercises.

Outside of work, Paige enjoys hanging out with her two British shorthair cats, going to the beach, practicing yoga, meditation, HIIT and running.
