Our top 5 things to do in Black Rock

At Muscle Freedom, we love our community and exploring the local surrounds. For a bit of fun, we’ve put together a list of our top 5 things to do in Black Rock to give you a little inspiration this weekend.

1) Tantalise your tastebuds at Half Moon Bay

Our mates at The Cerberus Beach House in Half Moon Bay certainly do cook up a mouth-watering catch! If you’re looking for something fun and inexpensive to do with the family this weekend, head down to Half Moon Bay for some scrumptious fish and chips and views that are to die for. It’s a great spot to spend an evening loafing on the beach and soaking up the last days of summer.

2) Cycle along the Black Rock Bay

There’s nothing quite like hitting the bike tracks along Beach Rd and feeling that salty breeze on your face. The ride from Black Rock to Mordialloc is spectacular, and it’s a good distance for those who are not overly fit (I’m talking from experience).

3) Enjoy the local café life

Most mornings before work you’ll find me enjoying my morning vice at O’Mara Cycles, and boy do they know their coffee! In Black Rock, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to quality cafés and restaurants, and one of our favourite things to do come the weekend is to relax with a coffee and a newspaper while doing some people watching.

4) Two words: Davey Mac’s

If you haven’t tried Davey Mac’s, then you haven’t lived. This is hands down the best artisan gelato I have ever tasted. Everything is made fresh on site in the traditional Italian way. With about 20 flavours to choose from, including sorbets and milk-based gelato, you can’t go wrong. Davey Mac’s can get busy on warmer days, so don’t be surprised if there are queues out the door!

5) Take a sunset dip

Floating in the bay at sunset is one of the most invigorating experiences around. We love daring ourselves to run into the crisp water, even when it’s raining. Sometimes we’re game, other times, not so much, but it’s always a lot of fun!

We’d love to hear about your favourite things to do in Black Rock. Please keep us posted!
